Would you like to participate in a small study about intravenous vitamin A?

Vitamin A (retinol) has shown to be effective in preventing BPD according to the recent Cochrane Metaanalysis (Darlow 2016). That is why it is practically in all major guidelines. Unfortunately, there is no vitamin A product available that is suitable for preterm infants.

The company Orphanix has developed a vitamin A formulation specifically for preterm infants. This innovative pharmaceutical can be used also intravenously and contains safe excipients only.

For EMA authorization, Orphanix will be carrying out a small clinical study, including 12 preterm infants born at 24-31 weeks.

Would you like to participate in such a study?

Orphanix would like to get in touch with NICUs already using vitamin A intramuscularly or NICUs that would like to participate in this study without prior vitamin A experience.
