Do you do systematic CMV screening in pregnancy? Do yo treat maternal primary infection in early pregnancy?

CMV controversy again

- who performs systematic CMV screening in pregnancy?
- does anyone give antiviral drug (valaciclovir) during early pregnancy in case of maternal primary infection, in order to prevent vertical transmission?

Screening is not done in Austria. I am not aware of therapy during maternal primary infection.

Hi! This is not done in Sweden either. Regarding treatment of maternal primary infection, I don't think so but am not 100% sure. Will see if I can find out some info about this.
