Stefan Johansson 631
FFP = Fresh Frozen Plasma We generally administer 10 ml/kg of plasma and then re-check coagulation parameters, and repeat plasma if needed. Specific coagulation factors are not used unless very special circumstances.

Stefan Johansson 631
Do all preterm neonates on antibiotics require weekly Vitamin K IM injection even if on EBM/ Breast feeds? If so till how long?We do not administer vitamin K on a routinely basis, BESIDES the first shot given intramusc to ALL newborn infants regardless of gestational age.(and we do give extra vitamin K in cases of cholestatic jaundice, but that's a somewhat different story)
nashwa 20
We administer vit k every w to any baby on broad spectrum antibiotic in our nicu on ivf
spatel0316 10
No need for vit K repeat dose if baby on antibiotics. If we see any s/s of coagulopathy then we can repeat dose but routinely I don't tHink its recommended. Sanjay Patel,MD Texas
