Guest jammaltaleb Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 sorry i mean during A/C only.thanks
Stefan Johansson Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 My answer is... no (if the infant is not agitated)
Guest Dukstar Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Yes, we use it when the a baby is agitated or has a high pain level score, and depending on the pathology (post-operative, NEC,...) but only when mechanical ventilation is prolonged.
selvanr4 Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 we use midazolam in a dose of 0.1 mg/kg sos ,when the baby fights . we do not use paralytics . Is it so for others?
Guest Dukstar Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Morphinics & hypnotics (midazolam mostly). No curares.
KBOUDHARHCA Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 NO. If the infant is agitated, MIDAZOLAM LOWER DOSE
vijayashankara Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 routinely we use morphine for all ventilated babies and if baby fights the ventilator add midazolam. Paralytics are used only during the intubation and initiation of ventilation. always use good doses, not halfway doses
Guest jacques-attack Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Hello everybody. We do not use sedation as a routine. If the baby is agitated or fights, we use fentanil and add midazolam, and only sometimes curaro when baby's fights is "too strong" and it becomes dangerous
rehman_naveed Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 We use morphine for babies needing ventilation as it is painful to intubate the baby and if still baby is agitated, we add midazolam. We do not use paralytic agents. If baby is not agitated, and not fighting the ventilator , or not having spontaneuous breaths, other causes needs to look for.
