selvanr4 Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 We have 60 % non culture proven sepsis in newborns. I doubt that many of them might have viral sepsis. None of the studies from india haveidentified the viral etiology.Hence our aim is to organise a study to find out the other etiologies of neonal sepsis.I need experts help in formulating, diagnosing and proving this. I request the advice from the learned . Thanks dr.r.selvan Erode, India

Stefan Johansson Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I'd think you could do PCR (on liqour) for at least #1, #2, #4 and #5. one of my own study from my thesis may give some hints on diagnostics : http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18930808 My suggestion is that you involve your lab and discuss diagnostics with them too. After all, someone will need to do the analyses! Wish you all best of luck!
selvanr4 Posted July 17, 2010 Author Posted July 17, 2010 Thanks for the suggestions. I will update the developements dr.r.selvan
