Bells
Hello I am working on implementing Nasal Intermittent Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV) in my hospital and would like to hear if anybody out there is using it and what ventilator you are using to accomplish this mode. I have the Servo i and planning to use the Hudson infant nasal CPAP cannula. Can anybody please tell me about their success or failure with it and if anybody has a P & P to use with the servo i, i would really appreciate your help. Thx
Guest blacknd
Here in Sacramento, we also use the Servo i for mechanical ventilation, however bubble NCPAP has been very successful in NICU. We have decreased our ventilaltor days and BPD rate. It is definately more work but it about the patients anyway.
Guest dr hazeena
I too would recommend bubble cpap instead of ventilator delivered one especially because in servo i one cannot reduce the flow beyond a certaain limit. But the flow that is required for nasal cpap is less than 5litres.Even with this babies are prone to get cpap bellies. This can be avoided in the bubble type to a certain extent by providing better nursing care.
