selvanr4 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Over years Many neonatal veterans might have collected pearls of wisdom about the practice of neonatology. Can We share this in this forum ( only evidence based) and spread the gospel truths ? dr.selvan Erode, India
feraszaman Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 This a fantastic idea!! I love it , may be we should have like a section of "pearls of wisdom" and the categorized to several subtopics like general neonatology, Cardiac, Respiratory..etc
maulikdr Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Very Novel idea. Experience can not be beaten by books or degrees...! We should request senior members to do something on it. DR.MAULIK SHAH
selvanr4 Posted November 16, 2010 Author Posted November 16, 2010 Here are some from our Surgical Professor. 1.Bubbly baby with froathy secretions from mouth choke on feeding- TEF with esophageal atresia. 2.Baby becoming blue on feeding but pink on crying - bilateral choanal atresia. 3.Newborn baby with bilious vomiting-bowel obstruction unless proved otherwise.
feraszaman Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 An experienced neonatologist told me one time that if you are concerned about an infant ( term or preterm) who is showing some signs of sickness , and covering his face with his hands and avoid looking at you ( not opening his eyes) , that means he is SICK until proving otherwise.
