Antimicrobial agents are the most commonly prescribed drugs in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). The appropriate use of antibiotics is crucial to improve neonatal outcomes, and limit the spread of multi-drug resistant agents with overall healthcare savings. As prescription attitudes vary between centers, in this study we aim to know what is the usual practice of antimicrobial use in European NICUs.
