  9. Interesting indeed! For clarification, do you mean EEG or aEEG?
  10. Any more ideas? Or lecturers you would like to hear?
  11. This is more a subject in the adult world, but anecdotally it is being done all over medicine... In any case, a good read! http://nautil.us/issue/51/limits/getting-googled-by-your-doctor

  16. S.T.A.B.L.E. is the most widely distributed and implemented neonatal education program to focus exclusively on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick infants. Based on a mnemonic to optimize learning, retention and recall of information, S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessment and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support. A seventh module, Quality Improvement stresses the professional responsibility of improving and evaluating care provided to sick infants.
  17. We switched last year. Generally it is pretty comparable, although there are quite a few extra alarms when comparing the two. Once, when you need to bag the patient intermittingly, the system alarms almost every minute, secondly when starting with iNO there are - in my opinion - unnecessary alarms as the iNO delivery overshoots initially before settling at the desired dose.
  18. The deadline to sign up for the conference is approaching! I hope to see many of you follow 99nicu'ers in Stockholm!
  19. We routinely use the bag in the incubator for the first week in our ELBW. Our impression is that babies are more stable with it. I am not aware of any clinical trials showing efficacy though.
  20. Evidence-based protocols and reviews by the Cochrane Collaboration
  21. I also recommend Keith Barrington's comment in his blog on erythropoietin in asphyxia https://neonatalresearch.org/2016/05/09/erythropoietin-for-asphyxia/ It is about the most recent phase II study on this topic published last year.
