Should genomic testing go ahead without parental consent? When results could drastically impact a child’s quality of life, should parents be allowed to decline testing?
Share your views in this 10-minute survey.
We are seeking the views of English-speaking paediatric or neonatal intensivists (either practising or in training) on the use of rapid genomic sequencing for critically ill infants. Our short survey will ask about two different ethical scenarios surrounding gaining consent for genomic testing and how a genomic test might influence treatment decisions.
This will be the first study to collect global intensivist perspectives on this topic.

We got this question on our FB page, please share your advice:
QuoteWould someone have a template for a birthing plan about DCC for a term and healthy (or non complications) birth? I watched the webinar recently (uploaded youtube May 15th 2020). There was a lot of information, with a lot of variables, and some confusion on my end.
Time was 1-10 minutes. No milking. If baby breathes on their own. I was just wondering if someone has a step by step in detail. I'm new to this information and spoke with our obgyn at our appointment today (mommas 35wks), and she said they generally go a minute, but also milk.

Would you like to participate in a small study about intravenous vitamin A?
Vitamin A (retinol) has shown to be effective in preventing BPD according to the recent Cochrane Metaanalysis (Darlow 2016). That is why it is practically in all major guidelines. Unfortunately, there is no vitamin A product available that is suitable for preterm infants.
The company Orphanix has developed a vitamin A formulation specifically for preterm infants. This innovative pharmaceutical can be used also intravenously and contains safe excipients only.
For EMA authorization, Orphanix will be carrying out a small clinical study, including 12 preterm infants born at 24-31 weeks.
Would you like to participate in such a study?
Orphanix would like to get in touch with NICUs already using vitamin A intramuscularly or NICUs that would like to participate in this study without prior vitamin A experience.
