EBNEO COMMENTARY: NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT FOR MODERATE-TO-LATE-PRETERM INFANTS
This was a really intersting study We found out that This was quite shocking, given the huge emphasis is placed on nutrition for preterm infants especially with the numerous interventions. I wonder how it is like with the long-term follow up with neurodevelopment?

EBNEO COMMENTARY: THE IMPACT OF TIMING OF INGUINAL HERNIA REPAIR ON OUTCOMES IN PRETERM INFANTS
Information concerning the advantages of late repair as indicated in the HIP trial study is persuasive particularly for extremely preterm infants and infants with BPD. I found the commentary’s discussions of the study’s shortcomings useful as they recall the risk of using composite outcomes and burden to families.

Olive oil
I quite agree with Stefan on this – MCT oil appears to be the appropriate means of bolstering energy intake, more so in preemies. Olive oil just doesn’t seems to be the right option and it was also good to know that some of the units do not even use olive oil.

Clinical study using Monivent Neo100 published in Resuscitation
The results of the clinical study using Monivent Neo100 are truly promising, and it's great to see innovative technology being used to improve newborn care. The significant reduction in excessive tidal volumes and mask leakage is a huge step forward in reducing the risk of brain injury and improving ventilation quality. Kudos to Dr. Robyn Dvorsky and the research team for their hard work and dedication to improving neonatal care. This study has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of newborns and their families.

Should every newborn be tested genetically?
Newborn screening and genetic testing are complex issues. We need to think about what to test for, how to handle results that show diseases that'll appear later in life, and how to deal with the emotional impact on families. Some docs think we shouldn't test for diseases with no cure, and that this tech might only benefit rich families who want reassurance. Parents and docs should decide together whether to do these tests.

Ultrasound guided vascular access and deep access PVC.
The advantages of ultrasound-guidance in vascular access are first-pass success, which is less attempts time taken to achieve intravenous access, high patient satisfaction, reduction in puncture attempts, and complications, and cost in cases. Furthermore, it has been shown that the use of ultrasound guidance will minimize the chances of bleeding and nerve injury as well.
