  1. Dear Colleagues Are you a neonatal consultant, senior neonatal trainee, nurse practitioner, or paediatric trainee with a neonatal interest in POCUS who would like to challenge yourself by gaining higher skills in Neonatal Lung Ultrasound? https://youtu.be/QgZBaZ64pl0 This course, limited to 24 places, covers the management of diverse neonatal respiratory emergencies and pathologies using a simulated approach. You will be trained in Lung US to diagnose and manage these conditions. We will be learning with Sam a state-of-the-art US simulator so that participants can learn not just the theory but also have hands-on practice https://youtu.be/lntSEurUOGA The course is run over two days, covering the basics and implementation of LUS protocols for performing LUS in neonates on Day 1 Participants will be able to practice performing LUS protocols and understand pattern recognition to recognise pathologies like RDS, TTNB, MAS, Pneumonia, Collapse, Consolidation and Pleural effusion Day 2 formalises theoretical learning through hands-on practice and the provision of simulated cases through manikin-based learning and videos. We aim to provide an immersive environment for experiential learning so that participants can put the knowledge into practice. 3. Hi 99ers , Given the well recognised potential for drug error on the NICU I would be grateful for some insight into how other Units have approached the processes of education, surveillance and management of medicine errors on their NICU. If you prefer please feel free to email me ( alih.1@icloud.com ) Kind regards Ali
  4. S.T.A.B.L.E. is the most widely distributed and implemented neonatal education program to focus exclusively on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick infants. Based on a mnemonic to optimize learning, retention and recall of information, S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessment and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support. A seventh module, Quality Improvement stresses the professional responsibility of improving and evaluating care provided to sick infants.
