October 5, 200916 yr hi all , dry cotton swabs and baby sheets are commonly used in nicus . how should we sterilise them before usage? should we also sterilise diapers before using them ? can we sterilise these items by keeping them in formalin chambers ?
October 6, 200916 yr comment_2411 My guess is that exposure to formalin would be more dangerous to a baby than just plain clean laundered sheets. You wouldn't want exposure to the fumes or any trans-cutaneous absorption. We use hot-water washed & hot-air dried sheets from the hospital laundry. If your laundry dries things outside where there may be insect contamination, then hot (steam) ironing would be required. re: cotton swabs- autoclave them or use dry heat, then keep them in a clean glass stoppered container. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_air_oven Send Sticky Note
