Transport Ventilator

Featured Replies

Hi,

In the coming months we are looking to replace the pneupac ventilators on our transport kits. I would welcome any opinions and thoughts on a replacement. Do any of you use the Fabian, and if so what are your experiences (we did have it on trial last year but not out on the road)

Thanks everyone.

Alistair

Hi Alistair

We are currently test-driving the Crossvent 2 on our new transport system. It is a quite neat ventilator with a touch-screen interface and sturdy rotary knobs. One very nice feature is the flow trigger function, if pneumotachograph is attached, so you can synchronize ventilation in transport. less sedation required, nicer for the baby. Also let's you do CPAP. However, reviews from users are somewhat mixed. Especially the touch screen interface seems a bit fiddly and tempramental, less than optimal in a transport environment with lots of vibration. We are still looking into other alternatives.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Eveline
