JACK Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Neonatal falls is an event which should never occur in any hospital. Though most of us presume that neonatal falls can never happen but unfortunately they do happen. LINK http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/122/2/e277.full.pdf+html There is a very nice article discussing this issue and making recommendations to prevent neonatal falls. I found this article very informative. LINK http://downloads.hindawi.com/journals/ijped/2010/547528.pdf Have you had a neonatal fall in your hospital? Could you share the circumstances of the fall.
dr mir Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 never had any falls but near falls could happen esp when someone forgets the latch and a hungry baby kicks the door or a baby is left unattended on a table or couch esp left ther for iv or other procedures
Guest JoannieO Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Had a baby fall off the bed - mother went to sleep feeding. No damage to baby but mother got a real scare.
selvanr4 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Never had an experience and it can happen if the staff are not careful
