ali
I would be grateful to any of my nursing/medical colleagues as to whether you have a protocol or set of parameters that you observe when getting a ventilated infant out for kangaroo/skin to skin? Many Thanks Alistair
mpat02
Please see our attached kangaroo care policy. We kangaroo stable vented infants successfully. You need at least two staff, preferably three for transfer. Our RT's stay in the unit during care. Nurses were predictably uncomfortable initially but have attained a strong comfort level after repeated exposure. We have not had any extubations in the process. Good luck!
