Laparotomy vs peritoneal drainage in the treatment of necrotizing enterocolitis

Featured Replies

Hi all!

I've been reading an artical published on "Laparotomy versus Peritoneal Drainage for Necrotizing Enterocolitis and Perforation" by Moss RL, Dimmitt RA, Barnhart DC et al. And I wonder if anywhere else have been used Peritoneal Drainage? When is it decided which way is more suitable to use on a specific patient? Is there a way of combining the two procedures to decrease morbidity or mortality by NEC?

The article was published on www.curosurf.com, but I think you have to be a member (it is free) to read it.

Thank you,

Jonatan Lundgren, Assisting nurse.
