June 22, 201114 yr First Sony..then Sega... Now Dropbox !! I think it is not a overstatement to tell everyone to be sure of what they keep on the cloud. One solution is if it is very important than to encrypt it before storing on the cloud so that even if the hackers could download it, they could not open it. May be a truecrypted folder inside a dropbox...the best option i think Though dropbox was not a hacker induced failure , but nevertheless it just shows the weakness in the system - either an external incursion or an internal weakness...the end result is the same http://tech2.in.com/news/web-services/bug-in-dropbox-affects-25-million-user-accounts/226542
June 22, 201114 yr I am a Dropbox fan and use the service quite a lot... For example, all my working doc's at the Swe med journal... Now, I do not keep any secrets there, BUT STILL! My confidence in the service has dropped. Droppedbox. BTW, the web will never be a safe place. One should always be careful. The fact is, Internet is generally an open arena, where statements can spin away with incred force and speed and without any control by the one who made the statement. And, what's said on Internet can be stored and traced. Forever...

I wouldn't store my financial documents on the cloud anymore.
