Work in Canada - what is required?

I seek advice about how to work as a neonatologist in Canada.

Does anyone, trained outside US/Canada, have experience from working there?

Or, can anyone from Canada give advice?

What formalities need to be met?

I and my family have some very vague plans about staying for a year in Vancouver in the future (2013?).
