serrao.francesca
Hello. In your NICU you used raw breast milk ? How long does the raw breast milk can be storaged at 1-4 degrees? If the fresh milk is storaged is it however expressed breast milk? Thanks
Stefan Johansson
We store fresh breast milk in the fridge max 72 hours. Many mothers produce more milk than their infant need and then excess milk is kept in a freezer, for max 6 months. We had thread about this some time ago I and posted links to the Swedish "Milknet". The text that I link to is in Swedish but you can use Google translate to get the essence out of the text: http://www.99nicu.org/forum/showthread.php?24021-Swedish-National-Recommendation-regarding-handling-of-breast-milk-in-neonatal-care-units.&p=27333&viewfull=1#post27333
