Apologies, we missed to promote the 2nd GLOBAL NEONATAL JOURNAL CLUB before the event, but here comes the video recording, the password is GNJC. And, the pre-info cut and pasted below!

What do a global multidisciplinary group of experts think is the FUTURE FOR NEONATOLOGY? We will review and discuss the recently published Commission on the Future of Neonatology, including interviews with the lead authors, Professors Daniele De Luca (France) and Steve Abman (USA). Then we will have a multidisciplinary panel of experts from around the world to discuss what the future of neonatology is....

Our Paper

The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health Commission on the Future of Neonatology De Luca, Daniele et al. The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health 2025; Volume 9, Issue 8, 578 - 612

doi: 10.1016/S2352-4642(25)00106-3

Together we will discuss fundamental questions raised by the Commission:

  • How can we best work together to improve outcomes for the two-thirds of the world’s babies who are born in resource-constrained settings?

  • What are the barriers to neonatal research and collaboration?

  • How can we better embed research in neonatology and increase community awareness of its importance?

  • How can we better involve families in care and research?

  • Why is innovation in neonatology so difficult? Why don’t we have more medicines and medical devices designed especially for neonates?

  • What other issues our holding our critically important specialty back?

But also… What is already GREAT about neonatology and what can research and collaboration do FOR YOU?
