The Irish Medicines in Pregnancy Service (IMPS) at Rotunda Hospital, Dublin, hosted a webinar last week titled: "Supporting Safe and Effective Medicines Use in Pregnancy and Breastfeeding - Balancing Benefit and Risk". The recording and slides are currently available here. The webinar dealt with risk-benefit decision making in pregnancy, evaluating information, medication use in breastfeeding and risk communication and shared decision making. In addition, the speakers shared several sources for drug information in pregnancy and breastfeeding. All material is freely available, highly recommended to watch.

We still commonly use FiO₂ thresholds, clinical correlation, and chest X-ray when deciding on surfactant for preterm neonates with respiratory distress syndrome. But in the era of precision medicine, how precise is that approach? Could lung ultrasound help us make earlier, more accurate, and more individualised decisions? Background The MPROvE Academy is running a Neonatal and Paediatric Cranial Ultrasound Course from May 22nd through to the 22nd of July. We will mentor a small group of candidates through the course, combining online teaching, workshops, and interactive discussions. A detailed curriculum for the sessions is provided in the attachment.
