Though I have been using Microsoft produced OS (right from DOS 3.3 till XP)...now gradually I am experimenting with linux.

I have started with ubuntu....because of the great amount of support available online for this distribution.

Anyone else trying linux?

By the way Ubuntu 9.04 will be out in 5-6 days

Respect! :D

I have had thoughts about trying Linux too, but have not had enough of time and courage. But, I like the idea of open source software, and that old machines can be fast and stable with less graphiccard-heavy bling-bling.

Off-topic: And, I have been a Mac user for too long, accustomed to stable computers that simply works... (bling-bling included :)). With time, I have also become more interested in computers as tools, and less interested in how computers works behind the screen.

It is really a pleasure to try linux (ubuntu especially)...It is such a breeze.

The support is always there online..just google the question and immediately the answer pops up. But I would advice you to try ubuntu or any other linux distribution ( like fedora or suse) on a spare desktop at home and not to touch your main business computer with it yet....I know of a friend who messed up his partitions while playing with linux and ended up losing a lot of data on the hard disk.
