Redundant, I can't attach the file, but there's a paper from this month (November or December) in Peds ID Journal, looking at appropriatnes of ABx use in the NICU. Thanks...Regards.Leonora. Meropenem itself has excellent anaerobic coverage. So it does not seem rational to use meropenem and metronidazole at the same time LINK

December 4, 200916 yr bringing in appropriate usage of antibiotics is a very difficult proposition, particularly when you do not have written accepted protocols; every time there is a prescription, there is always an explanation, however unconvincing it may be.
