About Me
I'm a 30 years old Physician Assistant (MSc) working on the NICU in the Radboud University Hospital in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. My main interest in performing neonatology in low resource country's. I'm the director of 'Project NICU', a project concerning a NICU setup in 2015 in African Tanzania (by Foundation Friends of Sengerema Hospital). Over one year, we've reached a decrease in neonatal mortality of 40%. Our main goal is sustainability in the future!
This year the documentary 'every child deserves a name' was released. A documentary about Project NICU. The title is based on the high perinatal mortality in Tanzania. Future parents are scared to directly name their child after birth, because they're afraid of losing their baby during delivery or shortly after. Project NICU is straining for a better future for those vulnerable newborns, by giving the right care during- and after delivery. With the decrease in perinatal mortality, it's one of the goals to give the parent's strength and hope for the future, because 'every child deserves a name'.
