We are doing our Laser Retinal Photocoagulation in our NICU in a pre-designed area.

I just wanted to know where other NICUs are doing their Laser therapies? (NIICU or OR)

DO you have a special area marked for Laser?

If doing Laser in NICU how do yo manage to comply with Laser safety regullations? How do you ensure safety of other staff in NICU during the laser?

We laser in a separated room on the ward (also used for postnatal care/resuscitation).

We simply hang signs on all doors, drape all windows, all staff in the room wears laser goggles.

We lase in conscious analgosedation with ketamine and dormicum, so no intubation is necessary.

We perform lasertherapy in the OR, though once we had it done on the ward (but we don't have wards anymore, just 1-, 2- and 3- patient rooms).
