nashwa Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 is it necessary to restrict ivf in case of RD in neonate "FT or PT" in 1st 48 h on NCPAP inspite of humidifier presence.
Dinesh N Patel Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) 1 Humidifier add in total fluid intake.2 liberal fluid intake may increasing incidence of opening of PDA. I USUALLY set fluid intake to keep U/O about 2-3 ml /kg /hr. Dinesh Edited May 21, 2013 by Dinesh N Patel

Dinesh N Patel Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 dear nashwa, U/O mean urine output.we try to keep U/O about 2-3 ml /kg /hr. In privios post i wrought day in place of hour.please correct it. sorry for inconveniency. dinesh
vijayashankara Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 If the urine output in PT with RDS is around 6-7 ml/ kg/ hr, what is done?
Aymen Eshene Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 thanks for asking this important question . we dont restrict fluid but Multicenter randomised trial proved that less hydration is better than more hydration in terms of decreasing morbidity and mortality . its better not to push fluid by 30cc daily , insteasd 20 is ok as long as you keep u,e,body wt normal. also practicaly: more fluid more odema more risks PDA, more difficult line ,and finaly theoritical risk for SIADH
Guest Abcdefg Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 We did not restrict fluids I/v in PTand FT babies we just giving the maintenance required and we have no complication
