99nicu.org
The latest Leading article is about the importance about communication with parents and we figured this was a good moment to launch a 99nicu Poll about feedback from parents. We have heard from colleagues around the world that some collect parental feedback regularly, for example from a questionnaire, while others don't ask parents for feedback at all. Please respond whether you collect feedback in your NICU, and if yes, explain how you do it in a comment below!
NICU RN 7
We have two methods. The first is a survey mailed by NICPicker that contains some carefully worded questions designed to evaluate the overall percieved effectiveness of our care. The second is a phone call made by our discharge planner which identifies specific events that were either praiseworthy or troubling to our parents and to make certain that our discharge teaching was understood. Stefan Johansson
@nursingnicurn - impressive approach! We give all parents logins to a web questionnaire and have yearly goals for use some measurements from the questionnaire, for example parents' overall satisfaction. Responders give high scores, but we have a far too low response rate, approx 30%.
