Newborn in terminal stage. Which are the bioethical specialist decisions?

This is a Spanish paper done in Mexico. A transversal research based in an electronic poll sent to Neonatologists and Pediatricians who work in NICU's in the country. We asked them if they were familiar to definitions about orthotanasia, euthanasia, limitation for the therapeutic effort and dysthanasia and which were their usual decisions with babies in end-of-life situations, their relations with families of this babies and then in the discussion we wrote about the changing in the way to manage this stage in terms of adequation instead of limitation in the therapeutic effort.

  Thanks for sharing @edcarsiarticle in spanish on palliative care in neonates  in detail. It emphasis the importance of communication among the clinical team and with parent, involving them in their care.From the bioethical perspective value the metaphor of building bridge with the parents so improve and facilitate those difficult conversations ahead. Here are echoed many of the issues in neonates referring to end of life care.

     I found especially helpful the explanation of 'comfort care' -orthotanasia -allow nature to take its course * favouring natural dying progress ,while supporting the family through this rough 💔 period  . In this way we avoid overtreatment. For example in case of 22 wkrs or neonates with severe malformations.

I am grateful for the term orthothanasia  as I'm writing a paper for a journal and have been unable to find terms better than 'comfort care' and 'palliative care'. This is perfect.
