Pontus Johansson Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Dear collegaues! I just wanted to hear your opinion doing continuous compressions when the baby has an LMA or do you always synchronize 3:1until intubated? In our national webeducation programme they say that you can "choose whether to synchronize or not" regardless of mask or LMA. Regards Pontus
Bjorn Valentijn Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Hi, We always synchronise CC and ventilation 3:1. We found out, by measuring Tv during unsynchronized CC - Ventilation using our ventilator, that compression at the same time as a Ventilation breath leads to no lung ventilation. Birth in Simulation setting as in Resuscitation setting. Using BMV, LMA or uncuffed tube doesn’t make any difference. Please let me know if someone has the same experience. 3
