Welcome to the virtual NICU!

Do you want advice from other members on a specific and complicated clinical case?

Now, you can "admit" patients to our virtual NICU when you, for example, need input on diagnosis or treatment. Besides the clinical history, you can upload pictures, videos and PDFs. Whenever possible, please anonymize the material.

We can assist you to attach documents to your case report, just email info@99nicu.org

We will alert all members by email when there's a new patient admitted to the virtual NICU.

To keep updated about the discussion on a particular case, we recommend you to Subscribe to updates by email. When you read a case discussion in the virtual NICU you want to follow, just click on Thread Tool, at the top of the case discussion you want to follow, and choose Subscribe to this thread.

Anyone can also use our Chat facility for live discussions. For example, you can invite people to a live meeting, by announcing the date and time for the meeting. (read about the 99nicu Chat here).

Please note that access to the virtual NICU is restricted to online members. Unregistrered, temporary visitors do not even see the virtual NICU in the forum list, and they have no access permission through a direct URL.

Policy about integrity and confidentiality

  • The member admitting a specific case is responsible for what-ever clinical information and material that is posted.
  • We strongly recommend you to get parental consent before posting.
  • For confidentiality, we advice you to change non-essential clinical details.
  • After the case is resolved, you can choose to delete the discussion (i.e. discharge the patient :)), by clicking on the EDIT button in your first post, and thereafter choosing DELETE. You can also email info@99nicu.org, and we will help you to delete the case.
  • When a case is solved, you may also wish to share your case in an open forum. In that case, we assist you to anonymize the case history, before moving it to an open forum.
