  1. Here comes an appeal! Please become a Supporting member! Sign in, and then click here. Since we opened in 2006, the 99nicu project has been driven by an altruistic vision, that we need this community to help each other provide the best care for our little patients. Despite that we have felt committed to a high degree of professionalism and independence, it is also a fact that 99nicu has been an “amateur project”, managed and mostly funded as a hobby, by us keeping the site up and running. As 99nicu has grown over time, so have demands of technical maintenance and support. We have come to a point when we need a model for covering costs. In a crowd-sourcing effort, we…

  2. 99nicu is a professional community open for professionals in neonatal medicine. In this context, we also welcome representatives for companies with medications and technology used in neonatal care. However, the discussion forums are meant for independent exchange of knowledge and ideas among staff working in NICUs and we strongly discourage posting by sales representatives for marketing purposes in the forums. We realize this is an area of difficulties, but the 99nicu team has decided upon the following guidelines: 1. Individual company representatives are not allowed to post or initiate contents related to marketing in forums, in blogs or in social groups. This …

  4. Join the EBNEO Society! Around 2010 we discussed whether to organise a in the Lounge on best practise in neonatology. We nourished a similar idea at the Karolinska University Hospital at that time and in a joint effort we organised the 1st EBNEO conference back in 2011. The 2nd EBNEO conference, chaired by prof Hesham Abdel-Hady based in Mansoura/Egypt, was held in 2013 in Istanbul, and will take place in Philadelphia/US, hosted by prof Haresh Kirpalani. To give the idea of evidence-based neonatology a context, we have formed the International Society for Evidence-Based Neonatology (EBNEO) as a non-profit organisation that will nourishes a vision that all neonat…

We are back online after the major upgrade ! There will be more to do with features but the basic forums work very well, especially on smartphones. Many thanks to the foundation Acta Paediatrica that is funding this upgrade.
