SGA and after-surgery prognosis

Featured Replies

Dear all, I am looking for articles, book chapters and so on in the field of prognosis after surgical treatment ( for congenital malformations, PDA etc. ) in SGA newborns. Any help?

I tried searching PubMed using the Mesh terms "Infants, small for gestational age" and "Postop complications"

Few hits:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=%22Infant,+Small+for+Gestational+Age%22[Mesh]+AND+%22Postoperative+Complications%22[Mesh]

What kind of postop problem/prognosis are you searching for? (mortality, morbidity, emesis, pain etc?)

Thank you very much. Precisely I am interesting in general influence of too low birth weight, on the outcome of surgical procedures, mainly mortality. We are planning to start a clinical trial to evaluate this subject.
