In our NICU, in the absence of breast or human milk, we use formula for premature babies in extremely preterm babies. There is no support in the literature for the use of partially or extensively hydrolyzed formulas or amino acids. Post-enteritis, the use of an extensively hydrolyzed formula can be considered, but it is not our routine.

We also use it, and especially in those patients with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, where CO2 production is not desirable. MCT generates less CO2 than glucose for energy production, consequently reducing respiratory work.

Hi! The conversion between mMol/L em mg/dl is : 1mmol/L = 18.08mg/dL

We don´t do it, because we never though about it; but is something that we must to consider. Thanks for the idea
