Dear all, soon time to celibrate the second anniversary of 99nicu The 11th of May 2006 was the official birthday

This winter has far warmer than usual. There's almost no ice in the Nordic sea, there's been hardly any snow in the Stockholm area. You may think this sounds good, but to tell the truth... without the brightening effect of snow Stockholm/Sweden gets really dark and unpleasent (that's my opinion anyway). Given the random variations in the climate I think one cannot only blaim the greenhouse effect, but something must be going on. Look what happened to our Christmas tree in our living room (started to grow) and the flowers in our garden (these flowers normally "show up" in March/April, the picture is taken around the 25th of Jan).

We would like to wish everyone Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Hope you all have peaceful holidays, and get lots of time off duties!

Dear all, 99nicu has its first birthday today! We have worked a lot during the year (and especially Stefan...) and I think that we have done a good job so far. And we have more plans for the future... I think we are worth 1) a drink 2) a short holiday & 3) a 99nicu car

tell me what to read in neonatology... books , manuals .. journals ..site to be so competent in neonatology as i love it soooooooooooooo much

We have a dedicated neonatologist in our unit, running a project on simulation team training. That is, practising team communication during simulated resuscitation scenarios (in contrast to learning skills, such as intubations etc). As you know, complex resuscitation is nothing you do on your own, only together with a bunch of other people. The simulation 'system', a computer-connected doll, is really an excellent tool. I can assure every sceptic that this is good training with a great deal of adrenaline boost for all participants!
