I thought that I will start a thread with links to free journal articles on neonatology. Everyone is invited to add their links also. You could give the title of the article, authors, name of journal, publication date, a short abstract if needed and then the link for download

Finding relevant articles on the net has been made easy by sites like google (esp google scholar) and Pubmed. But then I was faced with a more daunting task of finding articles in my own computer. There were so many of them (I think the last I counted them there were 2000 plus) that when I needed one relevant to a topic I was searching, it was an impossible task. So then with some advice from friends I installed two tools (freeware) on my computer which made my life easy. I thought I will share this with you all. For internet browsing I use Mozilla Firefox. I have integrated zotero (http://www.zotero.org/) into it. Zotero really makes it very easy to arrange pa…

Hello. My name is Sarah. I am very interested in becoming a neonatologist. I feel that it is my passion and what I was put on this earth to do. The desire to work in this field hadn't come until my baby girl was born. When she was just a month old, we were quickly initiated into a world apart from the normalcy most parents of newborns experience. It only took a day in the neonatal intensive care unit for me to uncover my passion. I was wide eyed with wonder about these special people, compassionate and skilled in their duties. Their knowledge was far beyond my comprehension, but I wanted to know and understand their "second language". I could surely say that is where my j…

While surfing the web I came across a nice collection of copyright free photos related to neonatology http://www.pedialink.org/pedialink/neopix/index2.cfm This is a work in progress. There are many categories where photos are missing and users are invited to submit photos. (There are some conditions..Refer the website) I think this is good start and being 'open' (without restriction) it should be helpful to many

Our unit still has the big white dry erase boards for patient information in the NICU and L & D areas. As we all know, patient information must be protected from other pts., visitors, etc due HIPPA laws. Needless to say we are pushing to get rid of these ASAP. If anyone has ideas or ways your units protect this information while still making as convenient as possible for staff to have access. I would really like to hear suggestions about this. Thanks:)
