Collaboration using Teambox
I'd want to lift this thread about Teambox (www.teambox.com). Anyone with real experience from this service?

Five great years. (or, five years checking emails)
Sometimes, taking a new direction make the unexpected happen. When we started 99nicu in May 2006, I did not think much about the long-term perspective. I just came up with "a brilliant idea" and convinced a few colleagues that we should start something good and useful. For the world. Ever since I was a medical student, working with international student exchange, I had believed in collaboration outside-the-local-box. When we meet, we get friends. And, friends help each other. During these five years, I have seen 99nicu develop into... something more than just a good and useful web site! We created a highly niched community, with a friendly athmosphere. Many people have asked for advice, but even more people have shared from their expertise. Geographical boundaries or time zones have not been limiting factors. For myself, 99nicu has changed my life. I have met new friends. I have learned about how neonatal medicine is practised around the world. And... I have been reading emails... Former and current 99nicu Team fellows, myself included, have spent many hours house-keeping the forums. But, as a community is made up of its members (I realize this sounds like some kind of communism, but it's true), 99nicu has thrived only thanks to you. Therefore, I want to salute you.

5-year anniversary!
Today is the day... all my best regards to members, Team fellows and everyone who has been supportive during these five great years! I just had dinner (at home) and my (understanding) family saluted the anniversary with me! I will try to write down some of my thoughts in my inofficial 99nicu Blog ("Reflections incubated in the 99nicu HQ"), but later...

Diagnosis Terminology
We use ICD for diagnos coding. Use P22.0 for "RDS", which refers to "Respiratory distress syndrome" according to the ICD-manual. http://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes/P00-P96/P19-P29/P22-

5-year anniversary!
Dear all, five years has passed since we officially opened 99nicu.org. I will write more later, but I would like to send special greetings to all members and the Team who have been supportive, kind and good friends in general! Best wishes from the virtual Headquarter! Let the next 5 years be succesful too!

Absolutely! As admin you should see, under "Thread tools" above, "Add poll to this thread". If not, I will add one!

NEC and transfusion
Interesting article (and site/journal club!) We don't stop feeding, I was not aware of this association. However, it is based on observational data. Anyone else here stopping feeding during transfusions?!

Apps for iphone, ipad a/o android
Hi! I am curious to know which apps you use in your clinical (or academic) work, on your smartphones and/or ipads. My favourites are: Evernote (for passwords, memos) Pubmed on tap Tapatalk (for browsing 99nicu ) Medcalc (for calculating a/A-ratios) Eponyms (quick ref for syndromes) Pediatrics (great journal app!)

Our newborn daughter!
@perkinst and @Joanne - thanks a lot for your posts too! Status update: infantile colic.... (BTW, are there ANY less evidence-based medical advice than about infantile colic?) I uploaded another picture to my album, here: http://www.99nicu.org/forum/album.php?albumid=5 (you can also view albums by clicking on Community/Albums above)

Our newborn daughter!
@feraszaman and @JoannieO, thanks! It's fantastic and still feels almost unreal - our son will be 15 years old this summer... I am not the religious kind but it's kind of a miracle that she came to us after all this time!

Our newborn daughter!
Finally, our wait was over two weeks ago - our little daughter was born. Although there were no indications of the opposite, we were much relieved to find that she is a healthy little girl! Ellen Märta Maria is her name. Our son calls her "Ellen Furious". I'd say that she has character!

Looks interesting! Have you tried it in a real project?

"Pulse Oximetry"
I have only experience from Sweden, where there are no RTs. Here, the team nurse is technically responsible for the O2 sats, but the assisting nurse is recording the sats (and pulse etc) in the nursing charts here.
