I have finally come across a probiotics product, produced in the UK (?), and classified as a dietary supplement in the UK. However, the regulatory aspects seem a bit complex. For example, it seems that we would need permission from the Swedish Medical Product Agency Authority before we could start to administer it to preterm infants in the NICU. It is possible that the authority would not approve it as a dietary supplement but consider it as a pharmaceutical, which means that a more complicated regulatory framework kicks in. i wonder how often u deal with unsatisfied relatives . many times patients attendents go violent in this part of the world on the death of their relatives . sometimes they can even gather a mob to create violence . in my hospital if a newborn is brought in a serious condition i have to make sure that the attendents are sensible enough to understand the situation !

Dear colleagues, More and more units are adopting policies and procedures related to DNR and Companionate Care. These policies and procedures, usually, depend on many factors the least of which is the scientific evidence. I personally called them consensus-based policies rather than Clinical Practice Guidelines.
