DAY 4 of life ,late preterm, birth wt 2 kg,(prob monozygotic )twins ,delivered by LSCS ,monochorionic diamniotic twins ,normal transition at birth ,both has clinical features suggestive of downs syndrome,karyotyping sent (takes 3 weeks for the report in our setup),1 st twin is doing fine,( counts are normal for both twins ,except for high retic count ,mother rh negative ,second order of birth ,previous anti d given ),second one developed severe pulmonary hypertension due to high hemotocrit,was on ventilator ,partial exchange done for worsening saturation (twice) ,dramatic improvement in saturation ,now on oral sildanefil.is there anything i should do further regarding ge…

in our service we don`t have pediatric cardiologist , so , we don`t perform routine cardiologic monitoring in preterm infants ( the nearest center with pediatric cardiology is 110 miles), i was looking for information about it but I did not find. should we transfer the babies to perform a consultation? thanks Daniel

Hello, I am looking for information on 1p36 deletion with tricuspid atresia. A friend's expectant daughter has just received this news. Looking for current prognosis and treatments. Could only find dated articles. Unfortunately I do not know where the deletion has occurred, so can not gauge severity. The atresia is the only cardiac diagnosis. Thank you for any input. Kathy

Hi all How much is the pre sample volume of blood should be withdrawn from UAC or PAL ? Should the pre-sample be returned back? What is the technique to be used? Can you plz share the practice in your unit? any evidence or link ? Regards

I am looking to have access to a collection of EKG print outs representing common neonatal problems. i.e. hypokalemia, hyperkalemia, AV canal. The purpose would me for education of the neonatologists. Our EKGs are often read by the peds cardiologist and I feel it is a skill that is being lost. Does anyone have suggestions for a good online library, or book? Also, if you have any nice, classic EKG printouts that you an upload, I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Hi all Does somebody have an experience with ibuprofen ,I mean PO, for closure PDA? Do you give ibuprofen PO when baby NPO? Which dilution do you use and do you give bolus or by gavage ? Which protocole do you use.? Thanks
