The new web site is taking form, there are lots of new ways to present content and working out what the optimal ways to do it. Most importantly, the navigation through all content is re-vamped. The menu (left column on your laptop/desktop, or lower right corner on your smartphone) has three parts: MY 99NICU: shortcuts to latest updates (Unread content etc) FORUMS: all the discussion forums, sorted in their categories COMMUNITY: everything else :) i.e. blogs, event calendar, webinars, link directory etc-etc Please share your feedback about the web site here, where can we improve?

We have launched a NICUVERSE as a complement to our older-school forums here on 99nicu.org Our NICUVERSE is based on Mastodon, a relatively new and de-centralised social media platform similar to Twitter, but free and an open-source software. So, in that respect, the opposite to Twitter... If you need any support about our NICUVERSE, please post questions below. All relevant Q&A's will also be moved to our NICUVERSE FAQs.

Lets start its a thread about NICUVERSE hashtags! All "toots" (posts) are displayed in chronological order, and there is no algorithm that up-/down-grades content based on your behaviour/interactions on the platform, or based on all the Big Data sourced and sold by Facebook, Google etc-etc. Which means that hashtags are more important for people to find relevant content. It is also possible to follow hashtags, like you can follow an individual. Just search for a hashtag, for example #NeoEBM, and than click on "👩⚕️+" to follow. Now you will get all #NeoEBM posts in your feed. Question - can we come up with and promote a set of standard hashtags? …

Time really flies, and it now 15 years ago since we started to plan for the 99nicu forums, opening in May 2006. In many ways, this project has been a key part throughout my own neonatology carrier. I have learnt so much about the diversity of how to practise neonatology, and I have also learned to know many people around the world. I had not get to know you without this virtual platform. But with time comes age and I have started to think about how to future-proof the operation and development of 99nicu. I, @Francesco Cardona and @Vicky Payne have started to think about where to go from here. what do you like with 99nicu? how does it benefit your w…

Hi colleagues, In the past few years the assessment of growth in the newborn has been updated significantly. In the US, we use Fenton for preterm < 35weeks, CDC and WHO for late-preterm and term babies. I have . WHO for uses growth charts for 0-24 months and does not consider GA at birth, , so babies could easily be over-classified by SGA, or LGA if GA at birth is not used. For example: using medcal interactive growth charts (CDC-based); a newly born male at 37weeks who weight 2600grams is classify as AGA between 25th and 50th%tile. A baby with same BW, but with a GA at birth of 41 weeks (term) will be considered SGA (<10t%tile) with medcal. but AGA based on WH…
