In the follow up of neonates ( who was admitted to our unite in first week of life for photo-therapy duo to exaggerated physiological jaundice ) i some times notice that there is still a tinge of jaundice seen in the skin at the age of one month , is this normal or i need to order some investigations for these neonates ? The ProPrems Trial investigated the use of probiotics in very preterm infants. The study has been reported at meetings, but the full article will be published in Pediatrics in December. The primary outcome was late onset sepsis, but the finding given most publicity was reduction of NEC. Keith Barrington, neonatologist in Canada and blogging at neonatalresearch.org, argued that probiotics should now be used as NEC prevention and that future research should focus on refining probiotic therapy, not comparing it with placebo. Dear netters Have a question? Baby 31 WG with IUGR (1030g). Clinically good, without respiratory, cardio support. Ultrasound N. Stool regular (2 times per day). In R graph peritoneal air on 2 day of life. Feeding is about 4 ml breast milk with good tolerance. Do you continue small feeding or TPN only?
