Hi all I am looking for protocols for the care of asymptomatic newborns born to mothers with suspected Covid. One question that has come up in my unit is whether an isolette 6 feet away ( that is turned off to avoid air circulation) should be used as an ideal physical barrier to protect the baby from the mother and other caregivers. I did see this recommendation briefly at some site online but unable to find it now! Thanks for your help Mike Mike Sukumar MD Rockville MD USA

can procalcitonin be used in neonates ? is it superior then crp ? what is sepis value ? when it is positive (for example premature ruptur of membranes 6 hour after birth or earlier) ?

Good evening doctors .. We practice that premature rupture of membranes more than 16 hour we should investgate baby for possible sepsis even if he is clinically good in 1 st 24 hours because infection may start to manifest after 2 or 3 days ...but what if the history of mother is only leakge for couple of days can this be considered PROM ? 🤔 Thanks in advance 🙂
