  2. What a wonderful topic! Thank you for bringing our attention to this! When you say "network", I'm immediately thinking about the Vermont-Oxford Neonatal Network, Canadian Neonatal Network and iNeo network. I recently had an opportunity to listen to prof Prakesh Shah lecture on the role of the Canadian Neonatal Network in improving the quality of care in Canadian NICUs, so my first step would be to look into their publications. http://www.canadianneonatalnetwork.org/portal/CNNHome/Publications.aspx
  3. Here’s a fantastic summary by Keith Barrington, definitely worth reading: https://neonatalresearch.org/2023/10/06/probiotics-what-now/ 🍿🍿🍿
  4. Although it's something we have discussed many times, I want to say again- I'm truly sorry that Twitter has become THIS place. You @Stefan Johansson were the one who introduced me to Twitter. I have observed and admired the way you interact with people there- with respect and curiosity, and it made me want to be more active there too. I hope we can have these spontaneous-but-clinically-relevant-and-evidence-based interactions also here in our 99nicu.org space. ❤️
  5. Such a nice overview of the situation!!!! Thanks @Gustaf Lernfelt for the work you put into this topic!!!
  6. Will it be recorded? Neobiomics also hosts a webinar tomorrow, and I think the timing collides Would love to see this one too though!
  7. Dear 99nicu Members, I came to know that Better Evidence https://www.better-evidence.org/ donates UpToDate subscriptions for eligible applicants- please, see the details below! The application takes around 10 minutes, and then their verification takes up to 6 weeks. Please share with your colleagues who might benefit from this program. " To qualify for a free UpToDate subscription, applicants must: Be a physician, surgeon, nurse, physician's assistant, or medical student outside of the United States. Volunteer/work for a public or non-profit entity.* Have at least intermittent internet access. Be able to complete the application in English. Explain how their work directly aligns with our program aim. Verify that neither they nor their institution can afford UpToDate.** "
  8. Hi, I found this one paper: Platelet Transfusions in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0095510815000391?via%3Dihub they address also requirements before surgery, but they acknowledge lacking data for preterm infants. The paper is from 2015. While looking for something newer, I created a ResearchRabbit network of papers, you can check it out here: https://www.researchrabbitapp.com/collection/public/0LJWEY98ZW When you click "Later work", it will display papers which are connected with the papers mentioned in this thread Maybe you will find something interesting. Good luck!
  9. Hi, what a great resource! Is this the same project as the one described in our Link Directory --> Educaction (please see attached below)? If yes, I can update the link there
  10. @Stefan Johansson Why is this marked as "hidden"? Is it because he is registered in another server or is this some setting that we can adjust as moderators?
  11. #NeoMeeting for conferences? What about something not strictly work-related, but more community-related? Eg. #NeoLife so we can encourage also lighter discussions?
  12. Can we use this space to also discuss hashtags for the NICUverse? We could use one of these images to encourage users to add hashtags, and maybe suggest some of the trending ones? (or the ones we want to trend). @Francesco Cardonathoughts?
  13. @RyoItoshima would you like to tell us about your practice from Japan?
  14. Hi @BetsyP, thanks for reaching out! I listed some possibilities here: https://99nicu.org/clubs/page/4-donate/ . I think that supporting the cause via the Polish page is right now the easiest one- this money will reach the Polish team soon and they can shop and plan transportation accordingly. It seems that the collection box is "full", but the objective was rather low at the start, so it is ok to contribute: https://pomagam.pl/en/ccdr4w?fbclid=IwAR0jKqCo96_Yr1e26Ft7ks-QS1FkcjM7UgIzuFi0CTvbnjhKIaPSD7b6eFg
  15. If you feel you can offer help, please let us know in this thread. *Right now we are trying to understand what are the actual needs there, so please visit this page again soon for updated information*. Please specify where are you located and what are your possibilities (eg. accepting patients from Ukraine, arranging transfer, arranging transportation of medical equipment, collecting medical equipment).
  16. If you are aware about a verified fundraiser for children or medical needs in Ukraine, please let us know in this thread.
  17. It's great to see so many responses here. First we need to learn what are their actual needs right now. Through Polish Neonatal Society we are trying to understand how we -as international community- can provide support to them. We need to remember that most likely this invasion will take a while, and we need to be able to respond to their evolving needs.
  18. Polish Neonatal Society is in touch with the Ukrainian society, and they are raising money for disposable equipment for the units and also for arranging evacuation if needed. The situation there is dynamic. I’m talking with the creator of the fundraiser to provide description in English so I can share it with you.
  19. The last days have brought fears and sorrows to thousands of homes worldwide. We encourage you to support verified organizations bringing help to children in Ukraine. You can support the Emergency Fund of Save the Children Foundation, which provides essential humanitarian help to children and their families. Also, UNICEF has launched an emergency response fund to support children in Ukraine. If you are aware of any fundraiser specifically aim to support Ukrainian neonatal or pediatric patients, please let us know. Stay safe. 99nicu.org Team
